Collaborative Design Platform Research Group (since 2010)
The motivation behind the CDP interdisciplinary research group is to address the current discrepancy between analogue methods used in the early stages of architectural design and the increasing reliance on digital tools in professional practice. The project’s objective is to conceptualise and prototype an interactive work environment for use in the early design phases. By directly linking familiar analogue methods with digital computer-aided design tools, the CDP creates a working environment that allows designers to maintain their accustomed workflows while leveraging the capabilities of computers. Since its inception in 2009, the CDP research group has facilitated the execution of research-oriented projects, experiments, and the development of prototypes. This has been achieved within the realm of pure research and in educational contexts and through collaborations with partners from academia, government agencies, and industry.
