Interaktive Visualisierung - Urban Xrt-Spaces
Seminar in Winter Semester 2024/25
In collaboration with the XR HUB Bavaria, this course delves into the intricate relationship between architectural theory and the creation of digital spaces, focusing this semester on Augmented Reality (AR) as a transformative medium. Set against the vibrant backdrop of the city, the course invites students to explore urbanity as a living, evolving exhibition space where digital and physical realities overlap. Through interdisciplinary collaboration between Architecture, Informatics, Game-engineering Students, as well with local artists (each group collaborating with one artist), participants will work to reimagine urban spaces, using AR to uncover, enhance, and reinterpret the hidden layers and narratives embedded within the urban environment.
A diverse pallet of tools such as Blender for modelling and Unity as your game engine, students will bring their visionary concepts to life through collaborative projects that blend artistic expression with architectural insight. The course is designed to accommodate those without prior knowledge, yet it promises a steep learning curve that will challenge and inspire. As they navigate the intersection of art, technology, and architecture, students will not only develop technical skills but also cultivate a deeper understanding of how digital interventions, shaped in partnership with local artists, can alter perceptions of space, place, and urban identity.
