Theme: | A challenge with the digitalization of existing buildings is often that the information available for them is on physical mediums, such as floor plans and drawings. Furthermore, such information may be only partially available to the public or may be missing/incomplete. This leads to the cumbersome task of manual digitalization. Through the knowledge of the building process, it is possible to assist in this process through a semi-automatic nature. A focus will be placed on completion of floor plans based on preexisting construction knowledge. | |
Goal: | The aim of this Master thesis is the research into the abstraction of construction principles into digital knowledge representations. Through this knowledge an assistant tool will be conceptually developed to support in the digitalization process of existing buildings, focusing on floor plans. | |
