Florian Lechner is a trained sculptor who works abstractly. In his artistic research he deals with aesthetic questions of our increasingly digitally permeated and physically unbounded present.
His radius of action extends across physical, digital, virtual as well as pictorial and plastic spaces. The partly hybrid processes lead to the establishment of abstract aesthetic spaces of experience in the form of performative states. In addition to questions of perception in aesthetic production such as reception, the investigations touch on, among other things, topics of abstraction and concretization, visibility, scale and non-scale, resolution as well as materialization and materialization.
The media status in the stream of images of our time, the constitution through distribution, the fluid and the network space are the subject of investigation. Real vs. image space, analog vs. digital states as well as friction with the concept of reality and virtuality should be mentioned, as well as non-material ephemeral parts of sculpture, sculpture and (built) space in the sense of an expanded concept of space.
