ALBERTO POTTENGHI
Alberto studied Architecture at QUT, Brisbane, and at Politecnico di Milano where, in 2006, he got the the degree in Architecture. After a period of studies in Japan he worked for Yasui Architects, Tokyo, and Claudio Silvestrin Architects, London and Milan. In 2009, with Mariana Sendas, he established MONOatelier based in Milan (IT) and Porto (PT). Since then the office work has developed through research and physical projects, in the fields of architecture, urban visions and design. From 2008 to 2011 has been teacher assistant at Politecnico di Milano. In 2011 he started working, as affiliated architect, at Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio with arch. Valentin Bearth, arch. Eduardo Souto de Moura and arch. Francis Kéré. Since 2013 he is the coordinator of the Building Reality Workshop in Africa, supervised by arch. Francis Kéré and organised by the Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio, where he led the course Introduction to african continent: construction and urban dynamics. Since 2017 he is research associate at the Chair of Design and Participation at TUM, Munich. In 2019 Alberto taught, as guest lecturer, at YALE school of design (USA).
