This call for contributions asks how architecture may in fact be a question of making sense. The production of architectural knowledge through the act of making involves the interacting body, the material reality as well as the environmental world. Concerned with the production of actual material samples, models, mock-ups and full scale installations in the fields of architectural teaching, research and practice, we ask:
– How may making architecture be understood as a way of thinking, defined as bodily interaction with the physical world?
– How may making architecture inspire and develop the work of teachers, researchers and practitioners, and the materials they use in the process of becoming?
– How may making architecture play a role in redefining the praxis of the architect in relation to the accelerating ecological crisis?
