Invitation to the lecture by FARLAND on Janurary 20, 2025.
FARLAND is a Berlin-based architecture firm founded in 2020 by Kristina Maria Möhring and Julian Möhring. The office works on an interdisciplinary basis and on all scales, for both private and public clients. It deals with projects in all facets of architecture - from furniture design to urban interventions.
FARLAND recognises specific conditions and challenges as opportunities. The results are customised concepts that mediate between aesthetics, functional requirements and an often tight budget. The creative leeway is precisely explored in order to locate the concepts in the field of tension between poetry and pragmatism. The development of robust and durable structures with simultaneous openness for adaptation to future changes is also a central aspect with regard to sustainable construction. The majority of the projects deal with transformations in existing buildings - both in the density of the city and in the rural expanse.
MONTAGSREIHE is a series of lectures at the Department of Architecture. Thematically, it is mostly focused on young offices that can give an insight into the beginnings of their practice in addition to their work. The series is intended as an enriching contribution to the Munich architectural discourse between architects, students and architecture enthusiasts.
