Students: our services for you
As a student, you get access to all the tools you might need to bring your project to life. From concept to construction and testing, the Design Factory can support you in every step of the process.
DF Computation
To enhance the digital workflow, members of the School of Engineering and Design have access to professional workstations, laptop stations, large-format printers, powerful simulation and rendering clusters, and high-performance computers.
DF Workshops
This factory provides our scientists and students with the opportunity to work with a diverse range of materials in multiple workshops within the same facility. Equipped with both traditional and computer-aided tools, the workshops support the processing of wood, metal, plastic, plaster, paint, and other materials.
DF 1:1
This factory provides flexible spaces that can be utilized both in terms of time and layout for creating full-scale prototypes and conducting experiments. The facility is accessible to students for teaching projects and is especially valuable for scientists working on research projects.
DF Collaborative Construction
Focusing on collaborative construction in architecture - both among humans and between humans and robots - this factory facilitates the prototypical implementation of cutting-edge research approaches in this forward-looking field.
DF Studios
Students and researchers have access to a professional working environment located on the downtown Munich campus. The teaching and research units span over 5,000 square meters, providing ample space for various activities. All students can utilize these flexible areas to work on their semester projects or Bachelor's and Master's theses.
