Algorithmic Design
The course „Algorithmic Design“ explores the role and application of Artificial Intelligence, and more accurately Deep Learning, into all facets of architecture.
Students will work in teams throughout the semester exploring existing solutions within the field of A.I. in the A.E.C. sector and beyond, focusing on broad predefined topics such as decision support, design, simulation, digital assistance, etc.. They will develop concepts about potential application areas of A.I. in the A.E.C. sector and implement prototypes to showcase their concepts, that either utilize their own A.I.s or utilize one of the vast solutions.
An introduction to programming with Python will not be offered directly, but a small set of Jupyter Notebooks and exercises will be made available to the students in order to practice. Accompanying lectures introducing the core principals of Deep Learning, data gathering and preprocessing will expand the students capabilities further, allowing them to implement their prototypes with ease.
The lecture is scheduled to happen as an in person lecture. The Lecture series and workshops will be recorded and made available over Moodle.
The introduction appointment of the lecture is mandatory for the participation in the course. In the case of a higher number of students applying for the course, the spots will be distributed through a lottery principle in the introduction appointment.
