Sky Light LH1
The facility Light Sky LH 1 is used for daylight simulation on building models and serves as a tool in the planning and design process.
The device consists of a hemisphere made of diffuse plexiglass with a diameter of approx. 4m, which is exposed to light from the outside. This creates a replica of the natural sky with diffuse light inside the hemisphere. The directed solar radiation is generated by an artificial sun in the form of a parabolic mirror.
To illuminate the diffuse hemisphere, continuously dimmable fluorescent lamps are arranged over the entire surface. The artificial sun is adjustable in elevation angle. For the horizontal angle of the azimuth, the models are placed on a rotatable table, which is aligned accordingly.
The Light Sky is supervised by the Chair of Spatial Art and Light Design Prof. Hannelore Deubzer and is located at the main campus of the TUM - Room 0239.
