DF Collaborative Construction
To enhance research and teaching, the Design Factory Collaborative Construction is outfitted with collaborative mobile robots, a transportable industrial robotic platform, mobile handheld devices, and head-mounted Augmented Reality (AR) displays.
These tools are available to students and doctoral researchers collaborating with our core members for a wide range of teaching and research applications. The robots can be customized with various end effectors to suit specific tasks and can act as collaborative platforms during design and fabrication processes. For teaching and research in Mixed Reality (MR) for collaborative design and construction, the lab will need to acquire additional equipment, such as a motion capture system for tracking and controlling mobile robots, Extended Reality (XR) devices, and a scaled-up version of a collaborative mobile construction robot.
