Begüm Saral, M.A.
Begüm is an architect and a researcher specialising in the utilisation of mobile robotics and AI tools for building construction and deconstruction in material reclamation and reuse.
She earned her bachelor's degree from Istanbul Technical University before starting her master's in architecture at TUM in 2019. From early 2020 until the end of her studies, she worked as a student assistant at the Professorship of Digital Fabrication, focusing her research on the chair's topics. In 2022, she graduated with a master's thesis titled "Alternative Representation Methods in Construction and Training: AR App for Guiding Bamboo Assembly in Low-cost Housing Construction in the Global South". Currently, she is pursuing her PhD on the project "SPAICR: Spatial AI for Cooperative Construction Robotics" as part of TUM GNI, concentrating on utilising AI tools for mobile robotic deconstruction in material reclamation and reuse.
