Project Weeks
The project weeks create a framework in which students and teaching staff can work across disciplines, curricula and locations on issues and projects that are of particular interest to them. In multidisciplinary teams, they not only expand their specialist expertise, but also strengthen their interdisciplinary skills.

Project Week winter semester 2024/25
A Building System for Ukraine
As part of the interdisciplinary design School of Tomorrow, which was offered by the chairs of Architecture and Timber Construction and Timber Construction and Building Construction in the winter semester 24/25, the student teams developed flexible buildings with scalable building systems in timber construction. These offer short and long-term solutions for the reconstruction of primary schools and kindergartens in Ukraine. The construction systems developed can be used for both permanent and temporary buildings that are used during the reconstruction of destroyed educational facilities. As part of the project week, the students will therefore transfer one of the developed building systems from a theoretical design to application maturity.
This initially involves the creation of implementation and assembly plans. Subsequent practical implementation on a 1:1 scale will demonstrate feasibility, identify errors and make optimisations.
During the project, students will learn how to work in multidisciplinary teams, gain practical experience and present and reflect on their results and insights.
