The wall paintings of the Magdalen Chapel of St. Emmeram in Regensburg are being analyzed and documented systematically for the first time as part of the DFG research project "Development of a methodology for non-destructive studies of wall paintings in situ" and a dissertation. Dr. Clarimma Sessa (heritage scientist) and Nadia Thalguter M.A. (wall paintings conservator) will be giving an insight into their research at the Tag des offenen Denkmals®. In addition to the chapel's history, historical mural painting techniques and non-destructive in-situ examinations will be discussed.
