Historic Load-bearing Structures
Lecturers: Dr.-Ing. Jörg Rehm and Dr.-Ing. Joram Tutsch
Historical load-bearing structures made of wood, masonry, iron or reinforced concrete are dealt with. Qualitative and quantitative analyses of load-bearing behaviour are carried out using specific examples. After successfully completing the course, students will be able to understand the design and mode of action of historical load-bearing structures. They will also be able to analyse and differentiate between the different types of historical structures with regard to their construction period and the materials used. In addition, students will be able to qualitatively and quantitatively assess the load-bearing behaviour of these structures.
