Lazlo Bleker, M.Sc.
Lazlo Bleker holds a BSc (hons) in Civil Engineering (2018) as well as a MSc (hons, cum laude) with a specialization in Structural Engineering (2021) from the Delft University of Technology. He is interested in the geometric interplay between structure and architecture and the tools that enable the exploration of this design space, including graphic statics, topology optimization and machine learning. During his studies he has worked as a Structural Engineering intern at the architecture and engineering firm SOM in Chicago, resulting in a paper for which he received the Internship Award from the TU Delft. After his studies he has worked at engineering firm RHDHV in Rotterdam where he worked on developing computational tools for structural engineers.
Since 2021 Lazlo Bleker is a PhD student and research assistant at the Professorship of Structural Design at the Technical University of Munich. His research focuses on the development of computational design tools that can aid the designer in creating sustainable, structurally expressive and elegant structures while still allowing for the freedom that the complex discipline of design requires.
