Dr. Lazlo Bleker

Lazlo Bleker holds a BSc (hons) in Civil Engineering (2018) and an MSc (hons, cum laude) in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering (2021) from Delft University of Technology. During his studies, he worked as a Structural Engineering intern at the architecture and engineering firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) in Chicago, and after completing his studies, he joined the engineering firm Royal HaskoningDHV in Rotterdam where he developed computational tools for structural engineering practice. In 2021, he joined the Professorship of Structural Design at the Technical University of Munich as a doctoral researcher, where he received his doctoral degree (summa cum laude) in 2026. His doctoral research focused on applying graph machine learning to structural design problems.
He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Technical University of Munich, where he continues to develop graph machine learning approaches for structural design and computational form-finding. His work investigates how these data-driven methods can support designers in navigating the complex relationship between structural performance, geometry, and architectural expression.
