Sebastian Dietrich M.Sc.

Sebastian Dietrich began his career in the construction industry with an apprenticeship as a formwork carpenter from 2002 to 2005. Following this, he worked as a journeyman and in 2006 attended the master school at the Construction Technology Centre in Wetzlar. After successfully completing his training as a master bricklayer and formwork carpenter, Sebastian Dietrich worked in various construction companies and architectural offices from 2007 to 2010. In 2010, he enrolled at the University of Applied Sciences in Mainz, where he pursued a bilingual bachelor's programme in civil engineering from 2010 to 2014. His studies focused on structural engineering. Following the completion of his bachelor's degree, he pursued his interest in architecture and transferred to the Bauhaus University in Weimar. He completed his Master's degree in the field of archineering, a combination of structural engineering and architecture. During his studies, he gained valuable experience working in various architectural and engineering offices, specialising in CAD design and structural engineering.
From 2017 to 2022, Sebastian Dietrich was employed by Bollinger+Grohmann. There, he worked as a structural engineer in a leading role on various projects with a focus on building in existing structures and parametric design. Since 2021, he has also been a research assistant at the Chair of Structural Design. His research is focused on topological interlocking structures, especially in the context of 3D concrete printing.
