Matti Drechsel studied Urbanism at the Bauhaus University Weimar, where he completed his Master's degree in 2019. He then worked at UmbauStadt PartGmbB on various projects in the fields of urban design, urban development planning, planning law and urban redevelopment management. He has been registered as an urban planner with the Thuringian Chamber of Architects since 2023 and works as a freelance urban planner on various urban design projects. Since 2023 he has been working at the Chair of Architectural Informatics in the EU innovation project NEBourhoods and since 2024 he has headed the Emergency Measures Studio at the Chair of Urban Design together with Matthias Faul.
