Design Research Seminar (Methodische Entwicklung von Forschungsfragen)
The goal of the Design Research Seminar is to develop innovative research questions that form the basis of a master thesis or as preparation for a later PhD (pre-doc). Participants learn basic concepts and approaches in the field of design research. Students develop a research question, a research design including appropriate methods and learn the basic concepts of a scientific publication in the design field. Specific topics include literature review methodologies, research methods, AI-supported research, ethics and writing. Individual aspects are practiced and applied in weekly exercises. Interested students develop an exposé for their master thesis or for a study within a future PhD.
Topics that can be worked on as a master's thesis at the chair include:
- Creativity-supporting work environments (Creative Spaces)
- Workspaces for Wellbeing
- Light and acoustics at the workplace
- Working on the road and outdoors
- Biophilic Workspaces
- Neuro-Aesthetics, Neuro-Architecture, Neuro-Ergonomics
- (Generative) AI in the context of design and creativity
