Ishika Alim has been working as a research assistant at the Chair for Sustainable Urban and Rural Development since April 2022. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Architecture from BRAC University, Dhaka in 2015.
Upon receiving the prestigious ‘Tadao Ando Scholarship’ in 2016, she briefly worked as a trainee in Obayashi Corporation in Osaka, Japan. She received her master’s degree in ‘Integrated urbanism and sustainable design’ from the University of Stuttgart with highest distinction in 2020.
She has gained working experience as an architect and a trainee in Bangladesh, India and Japan. Side by side, she also worked for various local NGOs focusing on different environment conservation and socially responsive projects which later shaped her research interest in urban resilience, social inclusion and adaptation through more informed design process.
Her research interest focuses on urban resilience and socio-ecological integration through urban green infrastructure.
