Walk. Sketch. Make.
24-hour 1:1 design workshop
Edges and borders appear in the landscape in various shapes and qualities. Lines that separate areas, borders that separate countries, walls that separate spaces––some are visible, some mental constructions, many define the way we use and perceive our surroundings.
This semester's short term design course aims at identifying and uncovering edges and borders around us. The method we will use as a first approach is simple and effective: Lucius Burckhardt and Bernard Lassus, Saskia de Wit and Günther Vogt are among the many who value walking as a tool to perceive and experience landscape with all our senses. Following their idea, we will walk to explore the landscape surrounding us before we sketch to understand its edges and transitions. Finallly, we will work 1:1 to directly transfer our experiences into space. The limited time frame of 24 hours will serve as kick-start into the creative experience.
Are you ready to challenge yourselves with 'ad hoc' 1:1 model making?
