Parque Ribeirinho Oriente
Masterproject - Winter Term 2015/2016 (AR 7201/6/7)
responsible: Prof. Dr. Udo Weilacher, Dipl.-Ing. Jonas Bellingrodt
participants: Masterstudenten aller Semester
Lisbon, beautiful city on the river Tagus is developing and enriching its attractive riverside. Historically industrial development in Lisbon was depending on the river for water supply and transport; nowadays, vast parts of these former heavy industries on the banks of Tagus are abandoned and lack a defined future. They are positioned between contemporary cultural centres, late gothic and baroque monuments, ecologically important estuary habitats, bridges, ports and other uses. The riverside from east to west extremities of the Lisbon City is being developed into an interconnected necklace of revitalisation projects embedded in parks and river promenades.
The aim of the Master project is requalification of the area between military industry of Braço de Prata and Matinha into vibrant Riverside Park. “Parque Ribeirinho Oriente” has the potential to connect with other parks and ecological resources along the river as well as reformulate the existing industrial identity of the area. Together with the new residential quarters developed on the industry grounds as well as tourist and cultural amenities from the nearby EXPO, “Parque Ribeirinho Oriente” will present vital urban renewal programme.
Final Presentation: 04th october 2016, 1.30pm room E42, Emil-Ramann Str. 6, Guest: Prof. Antonio Pocas - Universidade Lusiada de Lisboa, Portugal
